Press Release by Suzanne Ingrao

Gallery 25N – Alluring, enticing, bold, captivating---these and myriad other descriptive terms reflect just a few of the tingling sensations you will experience as you view these drawings from twenty "stars" presented in this dynamic exhibition. We are so very proud to offer the audience this collective feast honoring life in its most specific, inspiring, and at times wildly passionate moments. These works breathe their creative energies into the air, are alive within their temporary dwelling prompting exhibit visitors to unite with them in their literal passions. The brilliance is born through the details, effects that will remain in your mind and heart for a very long time. Included in this exciting collection is the recipient of the gallery's fine art grant, Jesse Lane of the United States. We are truly honored by Jesse's contributions to this exhibit and congratulate him regarding his overall accomplishments.

These drawings are entrances, openings to the unspoken methods we seek in our efforts to grasp a purpose to life and its iconic images. Yet that is the trick, the beast which trips you up as you enter each of these artists' works. These drawings are strongholds, guardians at the gates of potential awareness---your private enlightenments. This defines the strength of a realism which is able to thrive within symbolic activity. The pictures move, skip from side to side, up and down, as we naively try to grasp a "message." The viewer will soon learn the folly of his or her ways in how they define this art, that is, to expect a previously socialized encounter from which to move forward. Absolutely not---you will need to discover a new truth---your own truth--- that private "realism," if you have the courage.

This exhibition offers you an opportunity, a unique invitation to a rare event: Expressions of sparkling originality rising from magical, gifted ashes.
